Together we will build a different Europe: for the people, not for profit.

The Socialist Party (SP) is proud and excited to join the European Left Alliance for the People and the Planet (ELA) as a full member. With this step, we strengthen left-wing forces in Europe and work together with like-minded parties towards a fairer and more social continent.

The SP becomes the ninth full member of ELA, joining Bloco de Esquerda (Portugal), Enhedslisten (Denmark), La France Insoumise (France), Podemos (Spain), Razem (Poland), Sinistra Italiana (Italy), Vänsterpartiet (Sweden), and Vasemmistoliitto (Finland). In addition, EH Bildu (Basque Country) and Socialist Left Party (Norway) are associate members.

The SP prioritizes human dignity, equality, and genuine solidarity – in the Netherlands and abroad.

Especially now that a neoliberal government is coming to power in our country and further threatening the quality of life for many people, international cooperation is more necessary than ever.

By joining ELA, we are joining forces with other European parties pursuing the same goals: a Europe where people and the planet take precedence over profit, where public services are protected, poverty is combated, and the climate crisis is seriously addressed – without ordinary people footing the bill.
