SP Senator Kox visits Middle East

SP Senator Tiny Kox will in the next few days visit Jordan and Palestine as part of a delegation from the Council of Europe. In Jordan he will meet with King Abdullah II and Premier Ensour, as well as paying a visit to the refugee camp at Za’atari, where more than 370,000 Syrians are finding shelter from their country’s civil war. In Palestine the delegation will hold talks with President Abbas, Premier Fayyad and Foreign Minister Al-Malki.

A planned visit to Israel has been postponed until later in the year, at the request of the Israeli authorities. Both Israel’s and Palestine’s Parliaments have representative delegations to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) who meet with each other at the Assembly’s quarterly gatherings in the presence of PACE Members.
